StriVectin Repair and Protect Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 30

StriVectin Repair and Protect Moisturizer is my new favorite way to combat lines and wrinkles, protect my skin from the sun and drench my face with healthy antioxidants.

StriVectin

The formula has a whipped consistency so a little dab goes a long way. Lightly scented, this cream melts into the skin quickly and evenly.

StriVectin

Since it contains SPF 30 I use this moisturizer primarily in the morning to give my skin all-day protection from the sun. Once I awake and do a little meditation, I apply my eye cream and StriVectin moisturizer. Next, I grab my morning coffee, and write my to-do list for the day and fifteen minutes later I easily apply my foundation.  What’s so great is in this short amount of time my skin is perfectly ready for my makeup as it gets hydrated quickly, looks dewy but never greasy.

On weekends when I am not headed to work, I love the fact I can put on my moisturizer, before walking my dog Becky or running errands, and I already have my SPF 30 broad spectrum protection on my face. As an added bonus to my delicate skin, which is prone to break-out easily, I haven’t experienced additional breakouts.

All in all this product is a nice find that will be a mainstay in my beauty chest.

My new beauty routine with Clarins

I have a new beauty routine with Clarins and I couldn’t be happier with the positive results to my skin.

Clarinspic

Right now my skin is in that in-between stage; I need to protect it from the harsh winter weather but don’t want to over moisturize and cause breakouts.

So when I was invited a few weeks back to a Clarins event at Bloomingdale’s I was eager to find out about the latest product innovations from one of my favorite French beauty lines.

Here I was introduced to a new Clarins beauty regime which uses Double Serum, followed by Multi-Active Day Cream, then finishing with Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate.

The Double Serum is a fueled with 20 pure plant extracts.  Just a small pump covers the entire face and I learned the Serum is key to helping other beauty products like face and eye cream work more effectively. The Serum contains healthy ingredients like Musk Rose Oil, Organic Green Banana, Kiwi and Lemon Thyme and sinks quickly into pores.

Because I am always in such a rush in the morning, in the time it takes me to take a few sips of my coffee, I can apply the Multi-Active Day Cream soon after the Serum and follow with the Super Restorative New Total Eye Concentrate. In fact the Eye Concentrate really requires just a pea-size squeeze to adequately cover both eyes which I learned after squeezing a large pump of product in the beginning.

I also learned a very important step before applying any of these beauty cream and that is to ‘heat’ up the product with your fingers before applying as this makes the product more effective on your skin. After a few weeks of using this new routine, I have to say my skin looks noticeable better so much so my Fiancé noticed and asked what I was doing different with my skin. Better yet my skin looks better at work and I work long days so even around the end of the day my skin looks fresh and hydrated.

So I have to give an enthusiastic numbs up to my new Clarins beauty routine which is taking me “beautifully’ from winter to spring.

Sephora launches Pinterest inspired Social Shopping Platform called ‘Beauty Board’

Sephora has launched a new online beauty shopping platform called ‘Beauty Board‘ which captures a Pinterest experience combined with Instagram-like pictures to create a new social shopping experience.

On the site users can share their own beauty looks with a photo, offer personal tips and tricks and can tag specific products used to create the look.  Each noted beauty product can be viewed and purchased online at Sephora.com, Sephora’s mobile site and via its iPhone, and Android apps. Pictures can also be shared on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Google+.

Users can filter content areas based upon interest such as: Photos by Sephora (featuring looks by the staff at different Sephora stores), Makeup, Eyes, Lips, Nails, Skincare, Fragrance, Hairstyles and Hauls (which sounds funny but shows the purchases people make at Sephora). Special beauty influencers on the site providing content include Popsugar.com, Beautyblitz.com, Temptalia.com, Beautyhigh.com and Burdie.com.  Users can also see what is popular among users in real-time and can check out the newest looks.

Social shopping is a big buzzword these days — and a bit of a holy grail — as online retailers try to get consumers to move beyond catalog-style “shop and click” experiences to something more interactive and communal.

The Beauty Board is a direct response to the Social Shopping trend,  a form of e-commerce where friends get involved online in the shopping experience that mimics the offline activity and real world experience of friends gathering together to shop in person at a store or mall. It also captures Instagram and Pinterest experiences where users are already posting their own beauty looks, inspirations and tips.

My favorite feature of the site is the ability to “Love” a photo.  Loving a photo means to save it for later and to look at it again for inspiration.

The Beauty Board is free for all users and is a product of the French company Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH)which acquired Sephora in 1997.

Discovering Bioderma the French beauty line beloved by A-listers and celebrities

French Cult Beauty with Bioderm, beauty, travel, France, acne, amazon, baby, skincare, beauty, Bioderma, dry skin, french beauty, suncare, travel, tan, France, sunscreens, pore refiners, South America, Colombia, passport, USA, Venus de Milo, the Louvre

Overseas travel is exciting and while I love experiencing the museums, restaurants and historical landmarks; I get just as excited making a trip to the local pharmacy to find the best local beauty buys.

I recently discovered for myself the famed French cult brand Bioderma while in South America. I knew the line is beloved by beauty editors, A-listers and journalists alike so my pulse quickened when I saw the products on a fully stocked shelf. Celebrated as the premiere no-frills French brand (among a host of impressive French beauty lines)  this selection of cleansing gels, moisturizers, pore refiners and sunscreens which are gentle enough for the most delicate skins is as affordable as they are good for you skin.

Bioderma Micellar Water for Sensitive Skin, in the pink bottle, is the must-have item from the collection. A soothing non-rinse cleanser & make-up remover that is seen on most beauty shoots, it cleans pores beautifully and doesn’t redden skin.

Bioderma’s lines include: sensitive, dehydrated, dry and combination concerns; along with a baby skincare line.

Currently Bioderma is available in most countries, including recently the U.K.  If you are living in the United States you can find Bioderma online at Amazon.
